| | Wow what a weekend! I am now officially 21!! Thank you so much to everyone who left me messages, called me, sent me cards, and attended my shin-dig (you made my b-day the best!).
I invited some friends from all walks of my life to join me for bowling at Lucky Strike Lanes at the Block at Orange. Denise and I got there early after fighting for a parking space for 15 mintues. The door guy (at Lucky Strike) asks for I.D.s; I pull mine out and he looks at me and says, "What's the date today?" (seriously...He was trying to figure it out). I try to move the thinking process along and help him out by saying, "It's today." He then looks up...thinks for a while and says, "Oh then...Happy Birthday!" (thanks man...thanks...haha...urrr). We walk into the bowling alley and I make my way to the lanes and ask the guy behind the desk if I could put my name on the "waiting list" for a couple of lanes. He arrogantly remaks, "Sorry we don't have a list...I can't reserve a lane for you...you just have to come back when you want to bowl." He was so annoying I wanted to sock him, but decided I was way better than that and just left (seriously I don't know what his problem was...I mean geez he wasn't even that cute to be all stuck up and jerky...dang). Anyways so Denise and I just walked around a bit and I showed her some stores (since this was her first time there). We walked around for an hour or so and then met up with my friend Kelly at Lucky Strike. We decided since we couldn't bowl yet, that we would just get a table and eat. It was just the three of us and I had my first drink (a Midori Sour). After a few minutes my other friends started to arrive and a table for three quickly turned into a table for 13...haha. I was so happy to see everyone there and we all took up room waiting for our lanes to open up.
Actually lane waiting wasn't that bad and we had lanes 13 and 14. Bowling was a blast and luckily everyone got to bowl a little. While bowling I worked on my second drink a Malibu w/ pineapple. That was yummy as well. Sadly it wasn't my bowling night...as it was gutter ball after gutter ball. Ironically I won the second game and bowled a spare after chugging the remaining half of my drink ("alcohol does my body good!"). After bowling was over the night was still young and some of my "followers" followed me to D&B next door. I played a few games, walked around, and smiled...haha. Strangest part of that experience was "KELLY'S FRIENDS." So I'm standing by the ticket games talking to Lina and Kelly, when all of a sudden these two guys come up to us and are all "I'm Kelly's friend!" (they start shaking our hands and introducing themselves...and I'm thinking..."kelly are these really your friends?"...strange). One guy starts talking to kelly and lina and his friend who was clearly a little drunk was like talking to me. He was like all up in my face and kept asking me the same questions and saying, "so it's her birthday...cool!" (referring to kelly). My response to his comment was, "no it's mine..." (he looks at me and smacks himself in the forehead and is like..."OMG...I'm soo sorry I am so stupid...**smack**." He then proceeds to say, "well they you have to celebrate!!...I am going to take you around and we are going to have fun." (I start to worry...and am like WTH). He asks kelly and lina if he can steal me for like 20 minutes and thank goodness they were like "WHAT?!!" --so he took all of us over to the racing cars. He tells me to sit down and that we are all going to play and he is going to pay. I sit and then see in the corner of my eye a credit card with a guy's picture on it. I reach to pick it up but drunk guy is like "no you have to sit up!" So I leave it be for a second. He leans over my lap and tells me to show him how to swipe his card (to play) and he does...it backwards. Just to amuse him I swipe my own so he will leave me alone. He then proceeds to swipe for Lina and Kelly, but it doesn't work. He then runs off into who knows where and we never see him again. Meanwhile I am left playing and paying for a game I didn't want to play...crashing into cars and coming in 39th out of 40th place. Thanks man thanks...freak!
After D&B we headed to Kelly's apartment for the night. I was going to be a three-some!! Lina, Kelly and I had a blastful time...drinking Chapagne to Sex and the City! It was yummy...like soda. After drinking Kelly was "drunk", and lina and I were hungry. We all decided to make a Del Taco run around the corner. 3 soft tacos for me, 3 tacos del carbon for lina, and a MACHO BURRITO for kel + a car full of ridiculous jokes! After the food it was crazy kooky from there. Kelly basically went zzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZ while lina and I went nuts with tissue paper and mean girls. We stayed up unitl 6 am and it was great. I woke up at 9:30 am and couldn't go back to sleep...that was painful.
Waking was hard to do...but it was all good. Lina had to leave early for her Caligraphy class, so Kelly and I just hung out. We decided to go to the Brea mall since she was going to drop me off at my dorm. We got a little lost on the freeway but we knew where we were going. We had an interesting experience in Lakeview where an older man was making funny hand signals and looking at us, driving on our passenger side. Kelly got freaked out and I tried to understand what he was trying to communicate to us. He kept pointing to the front tire and I thought he was saying flat tire! This freaked us out and we both decided to pull off the freeway. We get off and turn into a gas station w/ a AAA truck nearby (if anything was wrong we were in the right place). We get out of the car and look at the tire (I expected to see a flat tire)...but it looked fine. Kelly and I looked at eachother confused and we didn't know what was wrong. Then we look closer and realize that there is something coming out of the front tire (another piece of rubber)...it couldn't have been the tire itself, because it wasn't flat...so we pull it and the rubber bumper part of the front bumper is falling off and dragging against the tires. We look at eachother and don't know what to do...we figure we have to pull it off somehow and start to pull. Meanwhile a little asian man is walking to his car and sees us kneeling at the bumper...he tells us out of the blue, "OH just pull it off...yeah it's okay but don't drive with it like that just pull it off." I yank it and it pops off and he says, "Good...Good okay you are okay." Thanks man for your advice! Crazy thing about that experience was the fact that we never asked a single person for help or advice yet two people were nice enough to tell us what to do. Lakeview I love your people :).
So that was basically my b-day bash...Ironically Saturday night I went to eat with my family at the San Antonio Winery...but we didn't have any wine...boo...what is up with that? Haha. |
