3 + years have gone by!!...

Whoally CRAP I haven't written an entry for nearly 3.5 years! Seriously, I think I stopped because I felt I "outgrew" this blogging thing...but actually I have come to miss it dearly. I have never been a diary-type of person, but I am a full supporter of documenting one's life! There are way too many memories to keep track of (no matter how big or small)!

I would like to say that the person I was 3.5+ years ago is completely different now, but in many respects...I am still the same goofy, shy, random person. I really haven't changed a bit and still find myself growing internally everyday. I think I have become a much more independent and stronger person over the years, but also struggle with these annoying never-ending issues within myself.

Blog...I would love to update you on all the crazy shan-an-agains I've gotten myself into...but why bore you with the past when the future is so bright. Two weeks ago I realized I'm in a really strange place in my life. I have been fortunate enough to be blessed with so many great opportunities regarding my career. Getting my foot into the door and really learning from some wonderful people. By no means has it been easy, but I wouldn't be where I am now if it wasn't for those crazy characters of the past.

Anyways...here is a quick sum-up of 2009 so far. I got in four accidents in four months and the last one (which occured in March 2009) ended with my poor little Honda Civic being totaled! I have been driving the 11 year-old family van to work for about a month...and while I love the "party van," I desperately need a new car. I hate dealing with car salesmen...and my experience at KIA was disasterous/sad (for the salesman). I still flut- around happily by myself...though have been recently freaking out over the idea that if I met someone who fit all aspects of my mental "list" and STILL had no attraction to them...what does that mean? I don't even think that sentence makes sense...but it does to me. Seriously does this mean that opposites attract?...I just don't know what to believe within myself anymore.

Well that is it for now I guess...let's see how long it takes for me to do another post.

So  I'm taking a "break" from reports I have to type up for my film festival class. I just want to tell you all that on Monday someone left me the funniest voice message ever!!

I get into the Daily Titan office around 11 am and see that my phone is blinking with voice messages. Now I know that no one would be calling me for "work" since I don't have anything to do at this moment in time. I check my messages like an hour later and CLASSIC is all I have to say.

Total of 5 new messages:

1. Loraina Wilson : "Hi this is Loraina Wilson calling from Whoopass Indiana. I have been trying to get a hold of you for weeks! I am looking for a cartridge refill for a model number blah blah blah blah. I believe the code is blah blah blah blah. If you could PLEASE get back to me I would really apprecitate it...Thanks."

**Okay first of all this lady sounds mega mean and her tone was so "I'm so going to kill you if you don't call me back." The way she said Whoopass was also silly...she emphasized it like she was going to whip me!

NOW FOR THE CLASSIC MESSAGE!

2. "Is this a recording?....................................................................Dumb Shits!"

AHAhahahahahahah seriously that is what it said...I couldn't believe it but I replayed it on speaker phone for everyone else to hear and yup we all cracked up. The funniest part about that message was that it was the voice of an old man and he literally paused for like three seconds! I looked up his area code to see where he called from and it was New Hampshire...geez...people!

OMG...so I saw the most disturbing movie ever tonight!! Seriously...I don't know, it was way messed up. As noted earlier Wednesdays are O-303's "night of fun" when all my roomies and I make snow-cones and hang out. Well this Wednesday our night had to be postponed and moved to Thursday (today). So instead of driving back home, I decided to stay and hang out. Since Hajra came home from class at 7 pm and Danielle and Heather wouldn't be back until around 10 pm, Hajra wanted to watch a movie she had rented from Blockbuster. The movie was titled Kandahar...about a Canadian woman who travels throughout Afghanistan to save her suicidal sister. It was really depressing and unsettling...w/o giving away the ending I just have to say that at the end of the movie Hajra and I were screaming and staring at eachother in disbelief. Dang...we were so upset that five minutes later Danielle came home from class and we made her put a "happy" DVD in our player.

Danielle's DVD of choice was none-other than Miss Congeniality!...fun times. In the beginning of the movie we all became heavily hungry and wanted food. We were too lazy to drive anywhere that we decided to try out online pizza ordering from Papa John's!! Two Lg pizzas!!--by that time Heather and her boyfriend Randy came home and they happily ate their chili cheese fries from the Hat...jealous. As we waited for our delivery boy...we giggled for Sandra. 45 minutes on the dot...we get the call for PIZZA! Yumm it was so hot and fresh...I wanted to die...haha. We ate like pigs and then the movie finished. After the movie we continued our tradition with snow-cone making...this time we had "happy snow-faces"...mixed some vanilla vodka with our snow syrup...and tada! Happy snow faces! ...a little taste of good ol'e Capn' Morgan (thanks Denise...we really like it). Great times...seriously we are all not drinkers at all...we barely drink and only at special times...but when we do it's fun. Heather begins to say random things, I get really excited and jumpy...and talk a lot, Danielle is Irish so it doesn't really get to her, and Hajra starts to clean our floors (it's great)!!

I love my roomies they are the best and I couldn't have asked for anything more! The dorms this year are awesome!

In other news I attended an RA program and discovered that I am introverted!...Yes out of the twenty or so people who attended the program I was the only introverted person there. We all took a personality test (answered questions...blabbly blah) and I am an ISFJ. The discription under these letter actually fits me to the bone. It is totally me and I can't deny that I am who I am.

This is what the paper said:

"ISFJ- Quiet, friendly, responsible, and conscientious. Committed and steady in meeting their obligations. Thorough, painstaking, and accurate. Loyal, considerate, notice and remember specifics about people who are important to them concerned with how others feel. Strive to create and orderly and harmonious environment at work and at home."

Although being introverted isn't the best...I must agree...it's me blah. Wow it is so scary to think how realistic and true that description is of me. I can't change who I am...I just have to accept it.

So at the moment I'm more buzzed than I was on my b-day...haha how lame. Just the idea of being able to have alcohol in the dorms (since we are all 21 and over) is awesome. My roomies and I buy alcohol to put into the fridge (just because we can). As of yesterday we had two bottles of Elektra, one bottle of Cap'n Morgan, and four fuzzy navel wine coolers! Wednesday nights are the only nights when we are all home at the same time since all of our classes let out at 9:45 pm. We decided to make use of the alcohol in the fridge and drink a little. I have to say I have fallen in love with ELEKTRA (white wine)...it is sooo good and so sweet (THANKS DANIELLE FOR INTRODUCING IT TO ME!). Although the alcohol we drank was only like 3-4%...I think I drank too much...my tummy was/is so full...blurrr... And why does alcohol make you so hungry?!! I always have the munchies afterward. Well we decided all of our recycle-ables are now going into an alcohol fund!!

So the past few weeks have been urg-ish. Busy with a whole load of stuff. Second wave of midterms which were blah blah bad...and then selling ads for the Daily Titan's 45th Anniversary...which took place on Sunday...and work and everything else.

After the 45th Anniversary banquet on Sunday I realized just how sacred and historical the Daily Titan really is. I feel honored to be a part of such an honored paper and was amazed to see so many people come out. I would have never seen myself working on the advertising side of the paper, but I am so happy to be where I am...go titan go.

Anywho the ball is rolling on everything and life I feel is crazy. I just want to collapse. It's all a rush. I love planning for the newport beach film festival and feeling official...haha. I can't wait for Thanksgiving break because I get to see all my lost friends. I miss them soo much. We are all growing into our own lives and are all on different paths (that is exciting and bittersweet as well). We are all grown up...ahh that is scary.

Wow what a weekend! I am now officially 21!! Thank you so much to everyone who left me messages, called me, sent me cards, and attended my shin-dig (you made my b-day the best!).

I invited some friends from all walks of my life to join me for bowling at Lucky Strike Lanes at the Block at Orange. Denise and I got there early after fighting for a parking space for 15 mintues. The door guy (at Lucky Strike) asks for I.D.s; I pull mine out and he looks at me and says, "What's the date today?" (seriously...He was trying to figure it out). I try to move the thinking process along and help him out by saying, "It's today." He then looks up...thinks for a while and says, "Oh then...Happy Birthday!" (thanks man...thanks...haha...urrr). We walk into the bowling alley and I make my way to the lanes and ask the guy behind the desk if I could put my name on the "waiting list" for a couple of lanes. He arrogantly remaks, "Sorry we don't have a list...I can't reserve a lane for you...you just have to come back when you want to bowl." He was so annoying I wanted to sock him, but decided I was way better than that and just left (seriously I don't know what his problem was...I mean geez he wasn't even that cute to be all stuck up and jerky...dang). Anyways so Denise and I just walked around a bit and I showed her some stores (since this was her first time there). We walked around for an hour or so and then met up with my friend Kelly at Lucky Strike. We decided since we couldn't bowl yet, that we would just get a table and eat. It was just the three of us and I had my first drink (a Midori Sour). After a few minutes my other friends started to arrive and a table for three quickly turned into a table for 13...haha. I was so happy to see everyone there and we all took up room waiting for our lanes to open up.

Actually lane waiting wasn't that bad and we had lanes 13 and 14. Bowling was a blast and luckily everyone got to bowl a little. While bowling I worked on my second drink a Malibu w/ pineapple. That was yummy as well. Sadly it wasn't my bowling night...as it was gutter ball after gutter ball. Ironically I won the second game and bowled a spare after chugging the remaining half of my drink ("alcohol does my body good!"). After bowling was over the night was still young and some of my "followers" followed me to D&B next door. I played a few games, walked around, and smiled...haha. Strangest part of that experience was "KELLY'S FRIENDS." So I'm standing by the ticket games talking to Lina and Kelly, when all of a sudden these two guys come up to us and are all "I'm Kelly's friend!" (they start shaking our hands and introducing themselves...and I'm thinking..."kelly are these really your friends?"...strange). One guy starts talking to kelly and lina and his friend who was clearly a little drunk was like talking to me. He was like all up in my face and kept asking me the same questions and saying, "so it's her birthday...cool!" (referring to kelly). My response to his comment was, "no it's mine..." (he looks at me and smacks himself in the forehead and is like..."OMG...I'm soo sorry I am so stupid...**smack**." He then proceeds to say, "well they you have to celebrate!!...I am going to take you around and we are going to have fun." (I start to worry...and am like WTH). He asks kelly and lina if he can steal me for like 20 minutes and thank goodness they were like "WHAT?!!" --so he took all of us over to the racing cars. He tells me to sit down and that we are all going to play and he is going to pay. I sit and then see in the corner of my eye a credit card with a guy's picture on it. I reach to pick it up but drunk guy is like "no you have to sit up!" So I leave it be for a second. He leans over my lap and tells me to show him how to swipe his card (to play) and he does...it backwards. Just to amuse him I swipe my own so he will leave me alone. He then proceeds to swipe for Lina and Kelly, but it doesn't work. He then runs off into who knows where and we never see him again. Meanwhile I am left playing and paying for a game I didn't want to play...crashing into cars and coming in 39th out of 40th place. Thanks man thanks...freak!

After D&B we headed to Kelly's apartment for the night. I was going to be a three-some!! Lina, Kelly and I had a blastful time...drinking Chapagne to Sex and the City! It was yummy...like soda. After drinking Kelly was "drunk", and lina and I were hungry. We all decided to make a Del Taco run around the corner. 3 soft tacos for me, 3 tacos del carbon for lina, and a MACHO BURRITO for kel + a car full of ridiculous jokes! After the food it was crazy kooky from there. Kelly basically went zzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZ while lina and I went nuts with tissue paper and mean girls. We stayed up unitl 6 am and it was great. I woke up at 9:30 am and couldn't go back to sleep...that was painful.

Waking was hard to do...but it was all good. Lina had to leave early for her Caligraphy class, so Kelly and I just hung out. We decided to go to the Brea mall since she was going to drop me off at my dorm. We got a little lost on the freeway but we knew where we were going. We had an interesting experience in Lakeview where an older man was making funny hand signals and looking at us, driving on our passenger side. Kelly got freaked out and I tried to understand what he was trying to communicate to us. He kept pointing to the front tire and I thought he was saying flat tire! This freaked us out and we both decided to pull off the freeway. We get off and turn into a gas station w/ a AAA truck nearby (if anything was wrong we were in the right place). We get out of the car and look at the tire (I expected to see a flat tire)...but it looked fine. Kelly and I looked at eachother confused and we didn't know what was wrong. Then we look closer and realize that there is something coming out of the front tire (another piece of rubber)...it couldn't have been the tire itself, because it wasn't flat...so we pull it and the rubber bumper part of the front bumper is falling off and dragging against the tires. We look at eachother and don't know what to do...we figure we have to pull it off somehow and start to pull. Meanwhile a little asian man is walking to his car and sees us kneeling at the bumper...he tells us out of the blue, "OH just pull it off...yeah it's okay but don't drive with it like that just pull it off." I yank it and it pops off and he says, "Good...Good okay you are okay." Thanks man for your advice! Crazy thing about that experience was the fact that we never asked a single person for help or advice yet two people were nice enough to tell us what to do. Lakeview I love your people :).

So that was basically my b-day bash...Ironically Saturday night I went to eat with my family at the San Antonio Winery...but we didn't have any wine...boo...what is up with that? Haha.
